Using the cycles.htm file

The file named cycles.htm also holds tables of date ranges and corresponding numbers of cycles to account for the possible cost divisors that are available on Web Benefit Enrollment Rules (BS01.1). These cost divisor options include:
  • Annual
  • Monthly
  • Semi-Monthly
  • Pay Frequency
If the divisor is Annual, then the number of cycles is always going to be 1, so no table is included for this option. If the divisor is Pay Frequency, then there are four possible employee pay frequency values, so four separate tables are required for this option.

Thus, six distinct tables are maintained in the cycles.htm file to determine how many cycles remain in the year based on the date range into which the start date of the enrollment falls. This file is delivered pre-formatted as web-readable JavaScript arrays with default date ranges and cycle numbers defined. Clients must add to or revise the inner table elements (dates or cycle numbers) to meet their needs.

The BS06.1 program replaces the cycles.htm file. If you are using BS06.1 to define the cycle rules, then do not use cycles.htm.
