Defining a ratio

A ratio represents calculated amounts or units from total name values. Ratio total names can represent accounting units, accounts, subaccounts, or ranges to report account information. Use this procedure to define a ratio. A ratio lets you preview the results of your compute statement online and even compare those results side-by-side with the results of another compute statement.

  1. Access Ratio Definition (RW30.1).
  2. Define the ratio. Use these guidelines to specify the field values:
    Ratio

Specify a name and description for the ratio.

    Folder

Select the folder in which you want to store the ratio.

    Compute

Select a compute statement to define how to calculate the ratio.

    Fiscal Year

  3. If you want to display the results of a ratio calculation by period and year, then click Calculate to open Ratio Analysis (GL85.1). You can use the 2nd Ratio field to compare results of two ratios.
