Tasks that you must accomplish

  1. Check with your state organization to determine what magnetic media type and file format your state accepts.
  2. Ensure that unemployment deductions exist in the system.
  3. If your organization has any nonstandard semi-monthly pay plans, run Nonstandard 12th of Month Calculation (PR192) to ensure accurate headcounts.

When you run Quarterly Unemployment Insurance Magnetic Media (PR292), Payroll creates an output file called final. The final file contains the quarterly unemployment information the state requires you to report. If negative wages exist, then they do not show in the output file, and they are shown on the error report.

Once the output file is created, transfer it to the type of magnetic media the state accepts. See Transferring the final file to diskette or tape. Use this procedure to generate a file for unemployment magnetic media.
