Stopping deduction codes for a group

Stop Deduction Code (PR714) uses the parameters specified to stop an auto-assigned tax deduction for specific groups. It sets the stop date on all PR14 records for employees that match the criteria on the PR714 parameter screen. For example, you can use PR714 if you do not want a tax deduction taken for a specific labor union because of specific union contracts or collective bargaining agreements.

PR714 creates a report used to verify the deductions that are stopped along with the stop date applied.

  1. Access Deduction Code (PR71.4).
  2. Specify this information:
    Employee Group
Used to include employee groups, such as union codes.
    Deduction Group
    Used to include deduction codes.
    Stop Deduction on start Date
You can either select to stop the deduction on the start date or specify a specific date that you want to use the PR14 stop date.

Select 1 = No to have different start and stop dates.

Select 2 = Yes to have the same start and stop dates.

    Stop Date
Specify the date if you selected to specify your own stop date.
    Sort Order
The output report is sorted by Employee Number, Alphabetic by Name, By Deduction, or Union and Employee.
Note: PR714 is not used to stop a deduction that is tied to a benefit plan. PR714 does not remove stop dates once they are added.
