When are dropshipments used?

Dropshipments are used when you want to ship an order directly to a customer from a vendor. You can use dropshipments to bypass the receiving process.

When you define the purchase order header, you can indicate whether or not the receiving process will be required for the dropshipment. If you have not required that the shipment go through the receiving process, receiving cannot occur.
