Changing employee history associated with a personnel action

Through your history correction method set up on Action (PA50.1), the application will automatically fix history when retroactive changes are entered. In the circumstance where you need to directly correct history, here is how you do it.

Change employee history records that are associated with personnel actions. Correct or delete employee history or move history information to a history error file.

Do not use this procedure to change current information. Corrections made with Personnel Action History Correction (PA54.1) does not update Employee (HR11.1) or Multiple Positions, Jobs (PA13.1). To change employee history associated with a personnel action

  1. Access Personnel Action History Correction (PA54.1).
  2. In the Company field, select the company.
  3. In the Employee field, select the employee.
  4. In the Action, Number field, select the appropriate personnel action you want to correct.
    Note: To view past error corrections, in the Effective field, select the history errors. Select the action date you want to view.
  5. In the Effective field, select the action history choice. Select the action date you want to change.
  6. Select the Inquire form function.
  7. Select the line action needed on the appropriate line.
    To Select
    Enter a correction The Change line function. If you are changing an amount or pay rate field, select the Currency tab to change currencies. If the data item is Rate of Pay, select the Pay Rate History tab to change history on associated items.
    Delete employee history The Delete line function.
    Move the record to the history error file The Error line function.
    Note: When you change an employee history field which displays on Position, Job History (PA13.2), the Position, Job History record is automatically updated.
  8. In the Special Processing tab, use the following guidelines to enter field values:
    Action

    Enter the new action code for the personnel action history.

    Effective

    Enter the new effective date for the personnel action history.

    History Correction

    Select the type of correction you want to make to the history record.

    Action Number

    Enter the action number of the history record you want to combine the historical action.

  9. Select the Change form function.
