Position Management Structure: Budgets

Personnel Administration allows you to define position budgets using either job codes or position codes. Personnel Administration also lets you track budgeted jobs and positions for your organization, budget by head count, FTE, or both, and enter salary figures associated with a job code or position code budget record.

Before you proceed, you must define your HR Codes for these Personnel Administration forms. HR Code Types You define Position Rules (PA06.1) before you define budgets. On Position Rules (PA06.1), the date entered in the Approve Through date field is a critical parameter when entering budgets. There are also a number of fields on the Limit and Counts tabs that have a direct impact on budgets.
