Completing a performance review

Note: Performance reviews may be completed using Manager Self Service via the web.

Once the initial performance review is setup, you are ready for the first and following reviews. Each time you complete the form and use the Add form function, the application adds a new review record to the employee's review history.

To complete a performance review

  1. Access Review (PA26.1).
  2. In the Employee field, select the employee.
  3. Use the following guidelines to enter field values:
    Scheduled Date

    Type or select the appropriate scheduled date of the review.

    Review Type

    Select the type of review. The review type indicates the kind of review for which the employee is scheduled.

    Note: To view or change past review records, select Review from the selection list, select the needed record and Inquire.
    Classification

    Type additional information about the review.

    Review Date

    Type the date the review is performed. If you leave this field blank, the field defaults to the Scheduled Date.

    Reviewed By

    If the person conducting the review is an employee, select the employee. If the person conducting the review is not an employee, use the name fields to type the reviewer's name.

    Review Schedule

    Select the frequency of the next review for the employee.

    Note: If you select a value, Personnel Administration calculates the Next Review Date based on the Review Schedule and the Scheduled Date fields. If you change this field for an existing record, clear the Next Review Date field for the application to recalculate.
    Next Review Date

    Type the employee's next scheduled date of review. If you type a next review date, also select the next review type to schedule the next review.

    Note: If you leave this field blank and enter a Review Schedule, the application calculates the next review date using the Review Schedule and Scheduled Date fields.
    Next Review Type

    Select the next review type. If you leave this field blank and enter a review schedule, review date or both, the value in the Review Type field will default.

    Schedule Next Review

    Select whether the application should automatically generate a scheduled review for the Next Review Date. If entering historical review data, select No.

    If completing a current review, and setting fields for the next review, select Yes.

    Performance Weighting

    Type a weight to indicate the importance of the performance score.

    The Performance Weighting is entered on the employee's review and is used in the Overall Performance Score calculation.

    Goal Weighting

    Type a weight to indicate the importance of the goal score.

    The Goal Weighting is entered on the employee's review and is used in the Overall Performance Score calculation.

    Note: The Overall Score is calculated using the following equation:

    (Goal Score * Goal Weighting value) + (Performance Score * Performance Weighting value)

    The scoring values are rounded off to the nearest whole number and is divided by 100.

    Overall Rating

    Select a rating of the employee's performance.

  4. Select the Add form function.
