Budgets in Personnel Administration

Budgets define the maximum head count, FTEs, or both, for one of the following:

  • A position

  • A job within a process level

  • A job with a process level and department

Position rules identify the category which should be used. The Personnel Administration budget is used specifically for monitoring filled positions and open requisitions. It is not tied to the Payroll application and does not count actual hours or salary dollars charged to a specific position.

After you specify the budget parameters, the application monitors the workforce count against this limit to calculate the variance between the assigned resources count and the budget. You also specify the salary for the position. The salary is for information only and is not verified by the application.
