Authorized counts
Authorized counts are budgeted counts that have been adjusted during the fiscal period. They let you change your original budget without overwriting your original budget figures. A history of the originally approved budget counts are maintained.
When you use authorized counts, the application uses the adjusted or authorized counts to calculate variance between assigned resources and budgets.
Variance = Authorized count minus (-) assigned resources
When you choose not to use authorized counts, the application overwrites the original budget counts when changes occur. The application uses the revised budget counts to calculate the variance.
