Defining course certifications and competencies

Note: If you use the Career Management task in Infor Employee and Manager Self-Service, course certifications and competencies are used to identify training options for employees with specific qualification gaps.

Define certifications, competencies, and proficiency levels acquired when a course is completed. Also, indicate whether a renewal is necessary for the certification or competency.

After the employee successfully completes a course, the application updates Competencies (PA21.1) or Certification (PA22.1) with the competencies or certifications listed.

To define course certifications and competencies

  1. Access Course Certifications and Competencies (TR03.1).
  2. In the Course field, select the course. Use the following guidelines to enter field values:
    Type

    Select the course certification or competency type. This is a required field.

    Certification, Competency

    Select the certification or competency the employee acquires when an employee completes the course. This is a required field.

    Note: If you leave this field blank and have selected a default competency on Training System Options (TR00.1), the competency defaults.
    Proficiency Level

    Select the level of proficiency acquired by taking the course.

  3. On the Main tab, use the following guidelines to enter field values:
    Source

    Select the source of the competency.

    Note: If you leave this field blank and have selected a default source on Training System Options (TR00.1), the source defaults. If a source does not exist on TR00, then it must be entered here.
    Renewal Length, Unit

    Type the length of time before the certificate or competency must be renewed. In the second field, indicate how the unit of time is measured.

  4. Select the Add form function.
