Defining default proficiencies

Note: If you choose not to perform this procedure, then the proficiencies entered on HR Code Setup (HR04.1) are valid for all competency codes for all companies.

Default proficiencies are used wherever there are no specific proficiencies assigned to a competency. If you are not assigning specific proficiency values to all of your defined competencies, define a default set of proficiency values.

Define default proficiencies

  1. Access Competency Proficiencies (PA07.1).
  2. Select the company to which you are assigning the default proficiency values.
  3. Select DF (default) in the Type field.

    Do not enter any selection in the Competency field.

  4. Complete the form using the following guidelines:
    Proficiency

    Select the proficiency to associate as a default selection.

    Status

    Select the status of the proficiency. Only Active proficiency values are associated with a competency on an employee, applicant, position, or job.

    Short Description

    Type a description of the proficiency. If the field is left blank, the description defined on HR Codes (HR04.3) defaults.

  5. Select the Add form function.
