Service class

A service class is used to group together service codes for absence plan processing and reporting.

Service classes indicate which service codes will be included for length of service requirements, accrual calculations, limits, and decreasing plan balances (usage or payouts).

Typically a service code should be tied to only one service class. In addition, each service class should only be used on one plan or plan structure so that an employee who records time under that service code will only have one master record balance decremented.
