Defining cycle-based accrual tables

Use the following procedure to define cycle-based tables for use on the Accrual Tab of Accrual Rule (LP03.2).

To define cycle-based accrual tables

  1. Access Cycle-Based Accrual Table (LP04.2).
  2. Complete the form. Use the following guidelines to enter field values:
    Accrual Table

Type or select a table code.

    Effective Date

Type an effective date for the table.

If you need to change a value on the table, add a new effective date to the table to preserve the historical table data.

    Table Type

Select whether the table is for hours or earnings.

    Cycle Frequency

Select the frequency for the cycle based table. The frequency determines how often accruals occur. It is also used as a reference for the service level values in the From Cycle field.

    Cycle Service Type

Select the whether the values in the From Cycle fields pertain to amounts within the plan, plan; employee group, or plan; employee group; position.

For example, if you select 01 Plan, the length of service is determined based on the earliest Service Begin date on Employee Absence Plan Master (LP31.1), for all employee master records with the same plan code for each employee.

    From Cycle

Type the start of the range.

Leave this field blank on the first record if accruals should begin from cycle zero. No length of service is required.

    Amount or Percent

Type an amount or percent to be used for the formula or calculation.

If you type a value in this field, you must also use the Indicator field to specify whether this number is an amount or a percent. Amounts are added; percents are multiplied.

Note: To enter 50 percent, enter 50.0000. A percent should not be entered without a calculation or formula.
    Ind(icator)

Select whether the value is an amount or percent.

    Formula

Select a formula to be used by the table. If an amount or percent is also entered, it is applied to the result of the formula. The types of formulas that can be used on a cycle based accrual table are:

    • Cycle amount formula

    • Ratio formula

    • Date formula

A line can have either a formula or a calculation, not both.

Note: The hours amount formula is invalid for cycle based accrual tables.
    Calculation

Select a calculation to be used by the table. If an amount or percent is also entered, it is applied to the result of the calculation.

    Maximum

Type the maximum for the combined result of the amount, percent, or calculation.
