How is a leave of absence tracked?

Absence Management tracks employee leave of absence information. This information enables on-line views and reports to help determine eligibility for future leave time, as well as identify on-going leave tracking actions, such as notifications and end of paid time for FMLA leave or state or province leave programs.

For continuous leaves of absences, the dates on the leave record will be used to determine the length of the leave. For intermittent leaves that qualify under FMLA or other governmental leave programs, the employee service and event records are used to determine how much leave time has been taken.

Reason codes, which are grouped by reason class, identify the records that qualify for a given leave of absence. Those hours are included when the leave is reported.

Data from payroll time records, including manual service and event data input directly into Absence Management, determine length of leave. If you are using the Infor Payroll application, data from time records will interface into the Absence Management application, where the hours will be used to determine length of leave for intermittent leave.

Balances in absence plans are updated according to the normal process, should an employee be using paid time while on a leave of absence.
