Defining vacation buy and sell plans

Use the following procedure to define vacation buy and sell plans that allow employees to purchase additional or sell extra vacation hours and earnings.

Before you perform this procedure, you should be familiar with defining benefit plans. For more information, see the Infor Benefits Administration User Guide. If you do not have the Benefits Administration application, you do not need this procedure.

To define vacation buy and sell plans

  1. Access Benefits Plan (BN15.1) and create a vacation buy or a vacation sell benefit plan using the following guidelines to enter field values:
    Plan Type

    Select Vacation.

    Plan Category

Select Buy Vacation or Sell Vacation.

Note: A plan is either defined for buying or selling, but not for both.
Flex Plan (in the Flex Tab)

    Select a vacation flex plan.

Accrual Plan (in the Flex Tab)

    Select an Absence Management plan.

  2. If all of the absence structures qualify for this benefit plan, skip Step 2.

If all of the absence structures do not qualify for this plan, access Absence Plan Benefit Groups (LP15.1) to indicate which plans are ineligible. Use the following guidelines to enter field values:

    FC

You can change the status of the absence group. You cannot add groups. The groups that display are determined by the groups that exist on Absence Plan Structure (LP02.1) records.

    Employee Group

This field is display only. It shows the different benefit groups that are assigned to a plan.

    Status

Select Inactive if the benefit group is not eligible for vacation buying or selling.

Records default to Active when a new benefit plan is added with an absence plan attached, or when a new structure group is added to an absence plan tied to a benefit plan.

An employee must have a master record under an active structure group to be eligible to enroll in the associated benefit plan.
