How is eligibility determined for a requested leave of absence?
If a government mandated or company-sponsored leave of absence program requires a minimum amount of service before the employee qualifies for eligibility, features within the Absence Management application will enable you to validate eligibility prior to approving or granting the leave request.
For plans that require a minimum number of hours worked, such as 1,000 hours, Employee Service Inquiry (LP60.1) can be used to get a point in time view of the total service hours for a specific employee. The hours displayed may be limited to a specific date range, and may be limited to a specific type of service by specifying a service class.
For plans that require a minimum period of service, such as 1 year, in addition to a minimum number of hours worked, you can run a report to get an eligibility assessment based on the service requirements entered on the report parameters. The report feature will also list any leave time taken to fully support the evaluation of whether the employee is eligible for a specific leave of absence program.
