Defining a cycle-based limit table

Use the following procedure to define cycle-based tables to use for ongoing balance limits, annual accrual limits, or carryover limits on Limit Rule (LP03.4).

To define a cycle-based limit table

  1. Access Cycle Based Limit Table (LP04.4).
  2. Complete the form using the following guidelines to enter field values:
    Limit Table

Type or select a table code.

    Effective Date

Type an effective date for the table.

    Table Type

Select whether the table is for hours or earnings.

    Cycle Frequency

Select the frequency for the cycle based table. The frequency determines how often accruals occur. It is also used as a reference for the service level values in the From Cycle field.

    Cycle Service Type

Select whether the From Cycle fields pertain to amounts within the plan, plan: employee group, or plan: employee group: position.

For example, if you select 01 Plan, the length of service is determined based on the earliest Service Begin date on Employee Absence Plan Master (LP31.1), for all employee master records with the same plan code for each employee.

    From Cycle

Type the start of the range.

    Amount or Percent

Type an amount or percent to be used for the calculation.

If you type a value in this field, you must also use the Indicator field to specify whether this number is an amount or a percent. Amounts are added; percents are multiplied.

Note: To enter 50 percent, enter 50.0000. A percent should not be entered without a calculation.
    Indicator

Select whether the value is an amount or percent.

    Calculation

Select a calculation to be used by the table. If an amount or percent is also entered, it is applied to the result of the calculation.

    Maximum

Type the maximum for the combined result of the amount, percent, or calculation.
