Calculating length of service hours

If you have an hours-based plan, you run Length of Service Hours Update (LP188) before running Employee Absence Plan Calculation (LP140).

You typically only run LP188 for time periods where new time records were entered.

To calculate length of service hours

  1. Access Length of Service Hours Update (LP188).
  2. Run the update. Use the following guidelines to enter field values:
    Processing Group

Select an optional processing group for which length of service hours should be calculated.

    Process Level

Select an optional process level for which length of service hours should be calculated. Employees that are currently assigned to this process level on Employee (HR11.1) will be selected.

    Employee Group

Select an optional employee group for which length of service hours should be calculated.

    Employee

Select an employee number for which length of service hours should be calculated. You can select up to four employees.

    Absence Plan

Select the absence plan for which length of service hours should be calculated. If no plan is indicated, length of service hours for all plans will be calculated.

    Service Year

Type the range of years for which length of service hours should be calculated.

You typically run this program for the current year or years where new service records were created.

If you leave this field blank, all years are recalculated.

    Effective Date

Type the effective date of the length of service hours calculation. This date determines which employee plan enrollment master records are selected for processing and calculating length of service hours. This effective date must fall between the Master Entry and Master End date of the employee's plan master record. In addition, for plan rules with multiple tables defined for them, this date determines which table is selected in order to find the Hours Service Class and Hours Service Type that will be used to calculate length of service hours.

    Time Record Status

Select which time records should be included in the length of service calculation.

If you use Infor Payroll, the status is updated in the payroll cycle.

Selecting 1 (Closed Only) will only calculate length of service hours for time records that have been closed by the payroll close program (PR197).

Selecting 2 (Open and Closed) will calculate length of service hours for both time records that have been closed by the payroll close program (PR197) and those that are currently open and have a time record status of 2 (Current), 3 (Error), 4 (Processed), or 5 (Manual).

If you do not use Infor Payroll, all time records are loaded using LP553 in a closed status, so you should select 1 (Closed Only).

    Update

Select whether to update the system with changes and create a report of changes or create a report of changes without updating the system.

  3. Add and submit the job.
