Interfacing attributes to add to a lease

When you interface leases into Lease Management, you are limited to 10 attributes. Using the Lease Attribute Conversion file and Attribute Conversion (LM552) enables you to add unlimited attributes and values to an existing lease. Use this procedure to import lease attributes and add them to an existing lease in the Lease Management application.

Before you run Attribute Conversion, ensure that the lease exists in Lease Management.

  1. Prepare the Lease Attribute Conversion file. The file must be in an importable format such as a comma-separated value (CSV) file. The file fields must match the order, file type, and size of the fields in the LMLSEMXCNV for UNIX and Windows or DBLMLMX for IBM i interface file. The file layout for LMLSEMXCNV for UNIX and Windows or DBLMLMX for IBM i is available on the Documentation page on Infor Support Portal.
  2. Transfer the non-Lawson file to your Lawson environment.
Note: For UNIX/Windows, You can use a standard transfer utility such as ftp or the Lawson program winptxfr.
  3. Load the transferred file into the LMLSEMXCNV for UNIX and Windows or DBLMLMX for IBM i file, using this command from your Lawson environment prompt:

    importdb productline LMLSEMXCNV filename

where filename is the name of the non-Lawson file transferred to your machine in step 2.

  4. (Optional) You can view and edit the lease records in LMLSEMXCNV for UNIX and Windows or DBLMLMX for IBM i, using Attribute Interface Adjustment (LM52.1).

Use these guidelines to specify the field values:

    Run Group

This field is required to identify the group of records being interfaced.

    Company

Specify or select the lessor company.

    Lease

Specify or select the lease that the attribute will apply.

    Attribute

Specify or select the attribute name assigned to the lease.

    Value

Specify or select the attribute value. Attribute value is required.

  5. Run Attribute Conversion (LM552) to interface the attribute records into the Lease Management application. You can run the program for all run groups, one run group, or one run group and company.

    Consider this field:

    Update

Run LM552 with the Report Only option first to generate a report of the attribute records interfaced and rejected by this program before you actually interface the records using the Yes option in the Update field.

  6. View the report generated by LM552. If it contains errors:
    1. Correct the records on LM52.1.
    2. Run LM552.
