Purging leases

Use this procedure to delete closed or retired leases when you want to free some space.

  1. Access Lease Purge (LM300).
  2. Specify your purge parameters. Use these guidelines to specify the field values:
Company or Company Group or List

You must select a company, or a company group, or an attribute list. These three fields are mutually exclusive, but one of them is required.

    Lease

If you select a lease, then you must also select a company.

    Lease Status

You can purge closed leases only, retired lease only, or both closed or retired leases, which is the default setting.

Note: You also have the option to purge all leases whatever their status (Lease Status = All), but this is a potentially dangerous option, which you must use with extra caution.

See Purging a lease that is not closed or retired.

    Archive

You can save the purged files to a set of comma-separated-value (CSV) archive files in the LAWDIR/productline/work directory. This option is valid only with the Update field set to Yes.

Note: The archive files get overwritten each time you run LM300. If you want to keep a copy of the archive files, then copy them to a different directory before you run LM300 again.
    Purge Selection

Select All Files, which is the default setting, to purge all files of all types meeting the other purge criteria. If you select Selected Files, then you must specify your file selections on the Select Files form tab.

    Select Files tab

Select this tab only if you selected Selected Files in the Purge Selection field.

You can select purge invoices, payment schedule, or balance file. If you select yes, then you can indicate an through due date. The default setting is No.

    Update

Select Yes in this field to purge the selected files.

Note: We recommend that you first run LM300 with the No option to view a list of the files that would be purged if you ran LM300 with the same parameters and the Update field set to Yes.
