About using Nature of Transaction Codes
Note: The United Kingdom uses a separate list of NOTC standards and
should use the NOTC code 10 for purchases and sales.
Nature of Transaction Codes (NOTC) is set as default when you create purchase orders, customer orders, or process returns. When you purchase or sell goods, the application sets the NOTC code 11 as default, which is standard for an outright purchase or sale. When you return goods to your vendor and ship the goods, the application sets the NOTC code 21 as default, which is standard for the return of goods. To set codes 11 and 21 as default, you must define these codes. See Defining nature of transaction codes.
