Global Location Number (GLN)

A GLN (Global Location Number) provides a standard means to identify physical locations and legal entities to improve the efficiency of communication within the supply-chain. As the name implies, Global Location Numbers are the GS1 Identification Key for Locations.

In Lawson, examples of the records to which a GLN may be assigned are:

  • GL Company

  • IC Company

  • IC Location

  • Requesting Location

  • Manufacturer

  • Manufacturer Division

  • Vendor

  • AP Vendor Location

  • PO Vendor

  • PO Vendor Location

  • Bin

  • Buyer
