Defining a company

Your general ledger company structure provides the framework for creating financial reports, accessing general ledger information, and processing journal entries and periodic reports. The structure that you define is unique to your business needs and requires planning. This chapter focuses on the information that you need to plan and define your company.

Before defining your company structure, you must define your chart of accounts. You should also review your options and plan out your company structure on paper before defining it in the General Ledger application.
