Related procedures for completing incomplete estimates
The estimates report that is generated when you run Create Estimates (FR130), lists any completed and incomplete estimates. You review the report to determine whether the estimates are complete. If not, then you must complete creating estimates. You can complete three types of incomplete estimates.
Complete incomplete estimates if no prior sales entry exists
-
Generate a report on Create Estimates (FR130).
-
Create first-time sales entries for the contracts listed.
Complete incomplete estimates for unreleased sales entries
-
Release an unreleased call-in estimate or actual sales entry on Sales Entry (FR20.1) or Sales Entry Release (FR121).
Note: Released sales entries must exist for the selected company and cycle date in order for you to create estimates using FR130. -
Inquire on the job for which the report was created when you ran Create Estimates (FR130).
-
Resubmit the job you selected on FR130 to complete the estimates for the unreleased sales entry.
Complete incomplete estimates if no data exists to process
-
Confirm that you specified the correct parameters on Create Estimates (FR130).
-
If incorrect, then resubmit the job with the correct parameters. Otherwise, proceed to the succeeding steps.
-
Run Open and Call In Estimates Report (FR200) to identify all open estimates and call-in estimates.
-
Run Sales Entry Report (FR225) to identify variances between the values submitted by the customer and the system-calculated values for the different charges.
Note: If sales entries for call-in or actual invoice sales entries are displayed in those reports for the same cycle date you specified on FR130, skip the rest of these steps; you cannot create estimates for that cycle date. -
Review the reports to ensure the sales entries for the cycle date you specified on FR130 exist.
