Option 1: Creating call-in estimates

  1. Access Sales Entry (FR20.1).
  2. Select the company, customer, ship to, contract number, and sales date for the call-in estimates that you want to create.
  3. Select Call-in Estimate in the Sales Type field.
  4. On the Sales tab, use these guidelines to specify the field values:
    Closing Sales

You can specify the amount of sales. This is a user-defined monetary amount that is the sum of the opening register amount and subsequent sales amounts charged, up to the closing of the cycle.

    Less Sales Tax

You can specify the sales tax amount submitted by the customer.

Note: If you leave this field blank and the contract is defined for sales tax, you must specify the sales tax amount before you can add the sales entry.
    Auto Fill Submitted

You can select whether you must define submitted charges for the sales record, or they will be auto-filled.

Note: If you select Yes, then the Auto Fill feature sets the calculated charge amount into the Submitted field. If you select No, then the Submitted field will be blank except for note and predefined special charges.
    User Analysis

To include values in the transaction header, then you can specify user analysis values, inserting a comma between each value.

Another option is to use the Define (F6) function to open subform User Analysis Entry (SL40.5). Use this subform to select the user analysis values that you want to include in the transaction.

Note: User analysis values are not available for posting to the Strategic Ledger application until they are added in the actual invoice sales entry.

See Option 2: Creating actual invoice sales entries.

Note: All contract charges with a next cycle date that matches the sales entry cycle date, default to the Detail tab where the Total Due is calculated and displayed.
  5. Select the Add form action to add the call-in estimate.
  6. To override a calculated charge with a user-defined value, then select the Override line action on the Detail tab. See Overriding calculated charges.
  7. Use these guidelines to specify the field values on the Detail tab:
    Submitted Amount

To override a calculated charge with a user-defined value, then select the Override line action.

    More button

You can open User Analysis (FR20.2) to define user analysis information for a transaction line or to override the default information from the sales entry header.

  8. Select the Release form action to release the call-in estimate and close the matching estimate, if one exists.
