Budget versions

After you define budgets, you must maintain your budget data to accommodate changes or corrections to budget records. One option that you can use to simplify your budget maintenance is to create budget versions.

When you create budget versions, you make copies of an existing budget while maintaining the integrity of the original. This enables you to make different versions of the original budget. For example, Budget 1 can have six different versions. You can use budget versions to create an audit trail or to forecast budgets. Budget versions also are used as a control measure; after you create a new version, you cannot change the old versions.
