About order information default settings

You can assign order information as defaults at the most appropriate level and override the defaults at lower levels in the structure to accommodate special processing needs. This section offers a representative sample of default information.

Note: Default information is displayed on the customer order forms after you add an order. You must leave these blank to accept the default values. Selecting a value, even if it is the default value, is considered an override and can make it more difficult for you to change multiple records at one time in the future.

This figure displays the cascading default scheme used for order information. Reading the figure from top to bottom, you can see the levels at which you can define a default listed from the highest possible level to the lowest possible level. Reading the figure from top to bottom, you see the order in which the application searches for the default.
