About calculating the billing frequency in the Billing application

The Billing application calculates the billing frequency using the frequency you specify in the Frequency field. If you select user-defined, then the application forces you to enter the bill date with each recurring invoice. If you select weekly, semi-monthly, monthly, quarterly, or yearly, then the application calculates the next bill date as follows:

Frequency Next bill date calculated by
Weekly

Adding 7 days to the last bill date.

If the last bill date is 0, then the next bill date becomes the day of the week selected on the master recurring invoice for the current week.

Semi-monthly

Adding 15 days to the last bill date (adjusted to the last day of the month if this is greater than the last day).

If the last bill date is 0, then the next bill date becomes the current month and year with the master recurring invoice bill day.

Monthly

Adding 1 month to the last bill date.

If the last bill date is 0, then the next bill date becomes the current month and year with the master recurring invoice bill day.

Quarterly

Adding 3 months to the last bill date.

If the last bill date is 0, then the next bill date becomes the closest month of the quarter and current year with the master recurring invoice bill day.

Yearly

Adding 12 months to the last bill date.

If the last bill date is 0, then the next bill date becomes the current year with the month and day equaling the master recurring invoice bill month and day.
