Inventory allocation

Note: The application allocates kit items at the component level. A kit is not allocated until you select all available component options and the kit is complete.

Inventory is allocated by reserving item quantities in the Warehouse application for specific uses, such as allocating inventory for a requisition, customer order, or work order. After the inventory is allocated, it is no longer available for other customer orders. You can allocate inventory items in one of two ways, online or by batch.

During Inventory Control company setup, you need to define which allocation method, batch or online, your company uses. See the Inventory Control User Guide for more information.

You can combine batch and online processing by using batch allocation to allocate based on priority, then use online allocation to make individual adjustments.
