Creating price or sales catalogs

Run Price Book (BL243) to create a price or sales catalog for a customer. A CSV file is written to the LAWDIR/productline/work/BL243 directory. The file name can be user-defined. If left blank, then the default file name is BL243CSV. The CSV file is translated using the Outbound EDI with Source (ED511) to create a price or sales catalog in an EDI 832 format to send to a customer.

The prices are from the first Price List on the Price Book from the BL243 job. The first price list in the Price Book must match the price list on Billing (AR10.3) for the customer to whom the prices are being sent.

The job is set up once and then is run as part of processing an EDI 832 Price/Sales Catalog.

  1. Access the Price Book Print (BL243).
  2. Specify a job name and description.
  3. Use these guidelines to specify the field values:
    Company

    Specify the company that created the price book.

    Price Book

    Select the Price Book that prices will come from.

    Effective Date

    Specify the effective date of the pricing.

    Create CSV File

    Select whether to generate a CSV only or to print and generate a CSV.

    Filename

    Specify a filename for the CSV file. This file is created in the $LAWDIR/productline/work/BL243 directory.

    Customer

    Specify a customer number for the customer whom the pricing information will be sent. The customer must exist on Customer (AR10.1).

  4. Submit the job.
