Kinds of orders

You can create several kinds of orders including drop ship orders, create PO orders, and ship immediate orders. Drop ship orders and Create PO orders can also be designated by order lines.

Drop ship orders

A drop ship order is when you create a purchase order for your customer's order, then have the vendor ship the items directly to your customer. A drop ship order saves time for your customer, who receives the inventory from your vendor. See Entering a drop ship order.

Create PO orders

A create PO order is when you create a purchase order for your customer's order and have the items shipped directly to you. After you receive the items from your vendor, then you can ship the items to you customer. You can use this order method to bundle items from a vendor with items from your warehouse for your customer. See Entering a create PO order.

Ship immediate orders

A ship immediate order is used generally for point-of-sale orders. For example, when a customer walks up to the counter, they can place their order and immediately walk away with their items. Running one batch program for a ship immediate order creates a pick list, pack list, and invoice depending on how you set up the ship immediate order type.
