Customer order vs. sales quote

A customer order details the items the customer is purchasing and allocates the inventory. A sales quote allows you to quote a price to a customer without allocating inventory. You can save a sales quote in the application and easily change a quote to an order if the customer decides to purchase the items at a later date.

To release a customer order that was a sales quote, you must first turn off the sales quote flag.
