Interfacing picking, packing, or shipping feedback

You can run a batch program to load feedback that you scanned into the Warehouse application. The kinds of feedback you can scan are picking feedback, packing feedback, and shipping feedback. Examples of scanning methods are using a bar code reader or handheld terminal. You need to run Batch Feedback Interface (WH520) after printing the pick list to process large amounts of picking, packing, or shipping feedback at once. Select which feedback step you want to load when running WH520 (you can perform one step at a time). To run WH520, you must create and load a flat file. The program produces an error report if:

  • the shipment needs a walkthru

  • the components need a walkthru

  • the shipment had manual feedback

  • there were no valid (processable) lines on the input file for shipment

For information on the WH520 file layout, see the Warehouse File Layouts.

Follow these steps to interface feedback:

  1. Create a flat file from an interface source in the format Lawson requires.
  2. Run Batch Feedback Interface (WH520) to load the feedback for lines.
Note: Shipments interfaced from the input file are not removed. Rerunning WH520 using the same input file creates duplicate updates.
  3. In the Status field, select Picking, Packing, or Shipping.
Note: The program reads the flat file and loads the kind of feedback you requested. The program also prints a list of errors, if any were found.
  4. (Optional) Void or backorder any remaining quantities. In the Backorder, Cancel Remaining Quantity field, select Backorder or Void.
  5. (Optional) Perform packing or shipping feedback and continue processing the order.
