About assembling a Bill of Lading

Note: Before assembling a Bill of Lading (BOL), you must set up a freight class, item weight in stock UOM, and the item size in cubic feet during your item setup. For more information, see the Inventory Control User Guide.

You assemble a Bill of Lading before you release the shipment. A BOL shows the cubic weight and feet of items in a shipment. The person transporting the goods uses a BOL to manage the load. To assemble, you first enter a freight charge, carrier number, and bill of lading number when you perform feedback. These items print on the BOL. Also, you can have more than one shipment on a BOL.
