Creating a work schedule (CM)

A work schedule determines work detail records and key contract dates. Follow these steps to create a work schedule:

  1. Access Work Schedule Maintenance (CM01.1).
  2. Specify this information:
    Company

    Select a company.

    Contract Year

Select the Contract Year of the Work Schedule.

    Work Schedule

    Specify a work schedule.

    Mimic Work Schedule

If you select to copy the date details of an existing work schedule, then select an existing work schedule to mimic. The date details of this existing work schedule record are used.

    Status

This field is for display only. It indicates whether the work schedule is still open or is already closed.

Note: The status field must be closed to create contracts or pay out a contract associated with the work schedule.
    Contract Start Date

    Specify the contract start date.

    Contract End Date

    Specify the contract end date.

    Work Start Date

    Specify the work start date.

    Work End Date

    Specify the work end date.

    Number of Pay Cycles

This field is for display only. The Number of Pay Cycles is determined after specifying the First Pay Cycle End Date and Load Frequency for the work schedule. This is based on the CM03 Remaining Pay Cycle that corresponds to the Pay Cycle Date range where the First Pay Cycle End Date falls.

    First Pay Cycle End Date

Optionally, specify the first pay cycle end date. This date identifies when an employee becomes eligible for contract payout. The Pay Cycle End Date must be aligned with the defined Load Frequency (example: Load Frequency = 4 or Monthly, therefore the First Pay Cycle End Date must be the end of the month).

    Load Frequency

Select the frequency by which the Pay Cycle Date ranges must be generated. Adding the First Pay Cycle End Date requires the Load Frequency to be selected.

Note: Load Frequency can only be used for weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly pay frequencies. For Non-standard pay frequencies (example: semi-monthly and non-standard monthly), pay cycle details must be manually created in Contract Pay Cycles Rule (CM03.1)
    Standard Hrs Per Day

Specify the standard number of hours per day. This is required if unit type is in Hours or Days.

    Annual Units

A display-only field that will count the paid days or hours from the work schedule date detail (CM02.1).

    Unit Type

Select the annual unit value: hours, days, or zero annual units. Zero annual units is used to track volunteer hours.
