Defining an allocation code

You can define an allocation code to allocate to multiple accounting units or companies. The amount that is allocated is based on fixed statistical values that are defined on this form.

To define an allocation code, complete these steps:

  1. Access Allocation Code (CA05.1).
  2. Select New Code to open Define Allocation Code (CA05.2).
  3. Define an allocation code and provide a description.
  4. Select the Add function and exit the form.
  5. From Allocation Code (CA05.1), select the allocation code that you defined.
  6. Define the allocation parameters. Specify this information:
    Position To

    You can specify a company, or an accounting unit to begin an inquiry.

    Company

    Select the company number to allocate.

    Accounting Unit

    Select the accounting unit to allocate.

    Value

    This field determines the percentage allocated to the company and accounting unit. The percentage is calculated by dividing the line value by the total value. The total percentage always equals 100 percent regardless of what the total values are. For example, 3500 for the square footage or 115 for the number of employees.
