Defining a Vesting Schedule

The vesting schedule determines when a company's contributions become non-forfeitable to an employee based on years of service.

  1. Access Vesting Schedule (BN03.1).
  2. In the Schedule field, specify the code and provide a description that represent the vesting schedule.
  3. Specify this information:
    Periods of Service

    Specify the number of years of service required for each level of vesting. You must define at least one year.

    You can based vesting on plan year, calendar year or employment year as defined in the Vesitng Comp tab of Benefit Plan (BN15.1).

    Vested Percent

    Specify the employee's vested percentage for this year of service.

  4. Click Add.
