Converting customer data

Note: You can convert customer data from your non-Lawson system to the Accounts Receivable application.

For more information about the conversions, see the Distribution Conversion Guide.

Customer comments must be converted with customer data. They cannot be converted after customer data has been converted.

  1. Load the appropriate customer information into the Customer Conversion File. Use the conversion file layout available on the Documentation page on Infor Support Portal.
  2. Access Customer Conversion (AR501).
Note: This program updates customer transaction period totals. Transaction Conversion (AR502), Payment Conversion (AR503), and Application Conversion (AR504) do not update customer period totals.
  3. Run the program to convert your non-lawson customer data. Select an Update Option to edit only or edit and update the customer records. The program edits the external data to protect the integrity of the Accounts Receivable data. A report is created in customer order that includes each field that failed an edit, the field data, a description of the error, and totals for the number of records processed, customers added, customer comments added, and errors.
  4. If errors exist, correct them and rerun AR501. You can use Conversion Customer (AR98.1) to make corrections.
