Interfacing Customers

Interface refers to the ongoing process of bringing in data from an external source into the Accounts Receivable application. These sources can be from another Lawson application or non-Lawson programs. This procedure describes the basic process for interfacing customer data.

Note: This procedure is different than the Customer Conversion process, which uses the Customer Conversion File and the Customer Conversion (AR501) form. For complete information on the conversion process, see the Distribution Conversion Guide

The following table shows the kind of information each file should contain. Download the most current interface file layouts on Infor Support Portal.

To interface customers

  1. Load the appropriate customer information into the Customer Interface File ARICST (for Unix/Windows) DBARCUS (for IBMi). Use the file layout available on the Documentation Page of Infor Support Portal.
  2. Run Customer Interface (AR550). To check the interface file for completeness and accuracy, you can select Edit Only in the Update Option field. The program creates a report that lists each field that failed, a description of the error, and totals showing the number of transactions that were and were not processed.
  3. If there are no errors, select Edit and Update in the Update Option field.
  4. Use Interface Customer (AR96.1) to edit or delete interface customer records.
