Interfacing Transactions

Interface refers to the ongoing process of bringing in data from an external source into the Accounts Receivable application. These sources can be from another Lawson application or non-Lawson programs. In this procedure, you will learn how to interface external invoice data, credit memos, and debit memos.

To interface transactions

  1. Access Transaction Interface (AR560).
  2. Select parameters.
    1. To generate distribution records for a specific company, select a company. You can also specify a customer range to process multiple customer range groupings for the same company, at the same time.
    2. Type a Unique Seq(uence) value to guarantee records will be unique (if a large number of distribution records are created).
    3. Select Edit Only in the Update Option field first. If there are no errors, select Edit and Update in the Update Option field.
  3. Run the program. The program creates a report that lists each field that failed, a description of the error, and totals of the number of transactions that were and were not processed. The program also creates a secondary report that lists the records added.

The following table shows the kind of information each file should contain. Download the appropriate interface file formats for the version of software you are using from the Documentation page on Infor Support Portal.
