Defining a customer group address

To define a customer group address, you must assign a customer number, name and address, define credit and order limits, and define bank information. This information can be shared across companies. You must add a customer in the Customer Group Address (AR09.1) before you can add the customer in Customer (AR10.1).

  1. Access Customer Group Address (AR09.1).
  2. Define a customer group address, credit and order limits, and assign customers to the company. Use these guidelines to specify the field values:
    Customer Group

(Required) Select a customer group number. This must be a valid customer group as defined on Customer Group (AR00.1).

    Customer

If you selected Yes in the auto numbering field on AR00.1, then leave this field blank. The program will assign a number.

If you selected No, then you must specify a customer number.

    Name

(Required) Specify the name of the customer.

    Address

Specify the address of the customer. The county field can be used for additional information, such as, an attention name.

    Country

The country code is required for VAT and intrastat reporting and must be defined in Country Maintenance (IN01.1).

If SE-Sweden, NO-Norway, or DK-Denmark are selected, then the VAT fields in AR10 are required when adding or changing customer data.

    Search Name

The search name is used to look up a customer number if only the customer name is known. If you leave this field blank, then the customer name is set as default.

    Credit and Order Limit

Specify the total credit or order limit to be extended to this customer across all companies. The orders for this customer group will be put on hold if the limits are exceeded.

    Tax ID

Specify the customer's Tax ID number.

    Check Digit Type

Select the check digit type if the vendor tax ID must be verified using a check digit algorithm.

  3. (Optional) If the customer is also a vendor, click Vendor to open Vendor (AR09.3). Establish the customer-vendor relationship by defining the vendor group and vendor number. This will allow AR/AP balance information to display on various inquiries.
  4. (Optional) If you need to set up a customer group address for VAT and Intrastat reporting, assign country code and, if applicable, a region code for the country.
  5. (Optional) If you need to define alternate billing addresses, then click Bill To to open Bill To (AR09.4). Assign country code and, if applicable, a region code for the country if you require Intrastat reporting.
  6. After the customer was added, click Customer to assign the customer to a company. See Defining a customer.
