How are attributes used in reports

The Asset Management application uses attributes in reports in one of these ways:

  • As a selection tool, to limit the assets included in a report to only assets that are members of an automatic or manual attribute list. Many Asset Management listing programs let you select an attribute list.

Note: Only automatic lists can specify an attribute sort order.
  • As a sorting tool, to generate a report in the sort order you specified for the attribute list.

  • As user-defined fields that provide additional information on assets. Many Asset Management reports let you specify up to three asset attributes. The values assigned to these attributes for each asset are printed on the listings, below the other asset information.

Note: Some of the reports also let you select accounting unit attribute lists. For information on defining and using accounting unit attribute lists, see the General Ledger User Guide.

Most of the Asset Management reports let you select asset lists and asset attributes.
