Setting up bar coding

The Lawson Bar-coding implementations lets you add, transfer, inventory, and dispose of bar-coded assets from a hand-held terminal (HHT). This chapter describes the required and recommended setup tasks for the Lawson Asset Management bar-coding implementation.

Bar coding requires the use of a handheld terminal (HHT) and a bar-code label printer. See your Lawson representative for specific requirements.

Caution:

When uploading a file from a handheld terminal, you must disable MS HotSync or any similar software on the PC or Palm Pilot that performs continuous polling of serial ports. Such software interferes with the ActivSync software's ability to recognize the HHT.
