System control

System control lets you control the way a subsystem (in this case, Asset Management) interfaces with the General Ledger application. For example, you can be required to close an Asset Management period before you close the equivalent General Ledger period.

System control is set up at the company level in the General Ledger application. For more information, see the General Ledger User Guide.

Example

In this example, company 4321 uses System Control (GL01.1) to require an Asset Management period to be closed before the corresponding General Ledger period. A posting book calendar for company 4321 must have the same period end dates as the General Ledger calendar for period 4321.
