Product category
A product category uniquely identifies a manufacturer and model number within an asset type or subtype. This is optional information you may want to keep for an asset item. You can specify the information directly in Asset Management after the asset is added, or you can scan the information in from a Product Category Workbook. When you generate a Product Category Workbook, each manufacturer ID and model number combination is assigned a unique bar code. This bar code is never shown on the asset record. It is used to interface the product category information to Asset Management.
The HHT operator can scan or specify the bar code to associate the corresponding product category with an added item.
