How are attributes used in listings?

The Asset Management application uses attributes in listings in one of these ways:

  • As a selection tool, to limit the assets included in a listing to only assets that are members of an automatic or manual attribute list. Many Asset Management listing programs let you select an attribute list.

Note: Only automatic lists can specify an attribute sort order.
  • As a sorting tool, to generate a listing in the sort order you specified for the attribute list.

  • As user-defined fields providing additional information on assets. Some Asset Management listing programs let you specify up to three asset attributes. The values assigned to these attributes for each asset are printed on the listings, below the other asset information.

These listing programs let you specify asset attribute information:

Note: These reports also let you select accounting unit attribute lists. For information on defining and using accounting unit attribute lists, see the General Ledger User Guide.
