How is transaction interface used?

When you interface transaction data, you create records of historical transactions in the Asset Management Transaction file (AMTRANS, DBAMAMT) and Asset Book Transaction file (AMBKTRANS, DBAMABK). These transactions provide historical data for the assets and are not posted to the General Ledger.

After you interface transactions, you need to rebuild period and annual depreciation amounts to make them available for analysis and reporting. Depreciation History Rebuild (AM320) rebuilds these amounts from the interfaced transaction amounts and stores them in the Asset Book History by Period file (AMBKHISTX, DBAMABX) and the Asset Book History file (AMBKHIST, DBAMABH).
