Printing bar-code labels

Use this procedure to generate a comma-separated value (CSV) file that can be downloaded to your PC and imported into bar code label printing software to print bar code or space labels.

Location detail

How does the bar-code label printer work?

You must define any location detail for which you want to print a label.

Print one or more bar-code labels

  1. Access Asset Bar Code Labels (AM153).
  2. Specify the print request. Specify this information:
    Print Number of Labels

Select how many labels you need. If you are going to add five new items, for example, request five labels. The printer generates the next five available numbers.

Note: Do not use this field to specify a number of space bar code labels; use the Number of Duplicates field instead.
    Number of Duplicates
    • For reserved bar codes, you specify a number of duplicates for any item with quantities higher than 1.

    • For assigned asset bar codes, or space bar codes, you specify a number of duplicates to replace existing damaged bar-code labels.

Note: Depending on your inventory practices You could also have duplicate space labels in an inventory space. For example, if a space is a room with several doors, you would probably want to place an identical space label on each door. A space label uniquely identifies a location and location detail
Print Asset Bar Code Label: Asset, Item
