Project Accounting integration with other Lawson applications

This diagram shows how Project Accounting interfaces with other Lawson applications. The integration symbol indicates where integration with other Lawson applications occurs.

Application integration: Project Accounting integration with other applications

Non-Lawson applications

In Project Accounting, you can send data to a non-Lawson application. You can also receive information from non-Lawson applications, such as point-of-sale or patient billing systems, through standard upload processes or custom interfaces using Project Accounting.

Attribute Matrix

You can use the Lawson Attribute matrix application to specify attributes to Project Accounting. You can use attributes to track custom information in activities, then use the attributes for selecting activities in processing and reporting.

Payroll

In the Lawson Payroll application, you can specify the employee and payroll information to Project Accounting. Payroll interfaces payroll amounts and labor hours to Project Accounting. In Project Accounting, you can assign employees to activities as resources.

Requisitions

You can use the Lawson Requisitions application to interface released requisitions to Project Accounting for commitment tracking. You can use the Lawson Requitions application to see requisition cost commitments in individual activities. Cost commitments are used in budget enforcement controls, and to post encumbrances to the General Ledger.

The Lawson Billing and Revenue Management application is an additional application that you can use when your activities generate revenue. This application requires these Project Accounting structures: activity groups, activities, and account categories. You can also use Project Accounting budgets, allocations, and reporting.

Order Entry

The Lawson Order Entry application interfaces released orders to Project Accounting for tracking revenue commitments. Order Entry also transfers returns to Project Accounting.

General Ledger

You can use the Lawson General Ledger application to update Project Accounting from journal entries and allocation transactions. Using Project Accounting, you can create capitalization, allocation, and activity journal transactions that interface to General Ledger. You can use additional General Ledger options to set posting controls, such as whether activities are required when transactions are posted to certain accounts or whether you must close Project Accounting before closing General Ledger.

Strategic Ledger

You can use Project Accounting to pass transactions with user analysis values to the Strategic Ledger application for analysis and reporting on organizational profitability.

Grant Management Billing / Grant Management

You can use the Lawson Grant Management application to work in conjunction with Lawson Financials, Procurement, and Human Resources to provide a solution that integrates planning, payroll, purchasing, and accounting processes for the administration, tracking, and reporting of sponsored projects. The Grant Management Billing feature provides the ability to track the sources and uses of project funding for multiple funding sources on a single project contract.
